Sound Tigers Sign Joel Broda to PTO

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Feb. 19, 2014) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced that forward Joel Broda has signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Broda, 24, has played 35 games for the Bakersfield Condors (ECHL) this season and collected 35 points (19 goals, 16 assists). He also scored two points (one goal, one assist) in eight AHL games for the Oklahoma City Barons in 2013-14. Broda also saw action in a total of 122 AHL games over the previous three seasons for the Houston Aeros.

Broda was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round (144th overall) in 2008, and played for three different junior hockey teams (Tri-City, Moose Jaw, Calgary) in the Western Hockey League.
