Coyotes Recall Gormley from Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled defenseman Brandon Gormley from the Portland Pirates, the club's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Gormley has registered 6-26-32 and 26 penalty minutes (PIM) in 48 games for the Pirates this season. He ranks tied for third on the team in scoring and ranks seventh in points among all AHL defensemen. His 26 assists are second most on the Pirates and his five power-play goals are tied for third most on the team.

The 22-year-old native of Murray River, Prince Edward Island has appeared in 116 games with Portland in his career, totaling 11-50-61 and 70 PIM. Gormley was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (13th overall) in the 2010 Entry Draft.
