
Sound Tigers Defeat Philadelphia 2-1

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, beat the Philadelphia Phantoms 2-1 in front of a season-high crowd of 8,034 at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard.
After a penalty-filled scoreless first period, Philadelphia struck first 53 seconds into the middle frame. R.J. Umberger slid the puck past Sound Tiger goaltender Wade Dubielewicz for his 12th goal of the season. Ryan Ready earned the lone assist on the goal.
The Sound Tigers answered back exactly eight minutes later when Rob Collins passed to an open Kevin Colley who blasted a one-timer home for his ninth goal of the season. Bruno Gervais was awarded an assist on the play along with Collins, the team-leading 16th helper and 27th point of the year for Collins.
The Sound Tigers broke the 1-1 tie 3:33 into the third period when Chris Campoli notched his fifth goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Jim Campbell and Blaine Down and turned out to be the eventual game-winner.
The Phantoms pulled goalie Antero Niittymaki in favor of an extra attacker with 40 seconds left to play but could not tie the score.
Dubielewicz was incredible in net for the Sound Tigers earning the first star of the game with 31 saves, including big stops on the penalty kill where the Sound Tigers went 7 for 7. Colley continues to shine for the Sound Tigers with five points in the last two games, earning Saturday's second star. PlanetUSA all-star Niittymaki had a total of 18 saves and was the third star of the game.
Philadelphia outshot the Sound Tigers 32-20, including 13-3 in the third period. The Sound Tigers were 0 for 4 on the power play.
The Sound Tigers will host the Hartford Wolf Pack tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. The game will be web cast live at www.soundtigers.com.
This weekend is "Scout Weekend" at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard with specially-discounted ticket prices for all scouts and their families. Scouts who arrive in uniform will receive a souvenir Sound Tigers â Scout patch while supplies last. All packs, troops and crews will be recognized on the digital display boards and public address system.
Immediately following tomorrow's game, the Sound Tigers will present a "CVS Pharmacy All-Star Hockey Game" to benefit the Children's Glaucoma Foundation. Jim Craig, Ken Morrow, Brad Park, Ken Hodge, John Bucyk, John McKenzie and Rick Middleton are among those scheduled to appear for the benefit game. All fans with a ticket to the Sound Tigers â Wolf Pack game will be admitted to the celebrity game.
The Stanley Cup will also be at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard during both games tomorrow. Fans can have their picture taken with the cup for a $10 donation with all from the photos going to the Children's Glaucoma Foundation.
