Morlang Makes Round Trip

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the release and re-signing of right wing John Morlang from and to a professional tryout contract. Released by the Sound Tigers Tuesday, Morlang returned to the United Hockey League's Danbury Trashers and notched a hat trick; with a power-play goal, shorthanded goal and unassisted goal; and an assist for a four-point night in Danbury's 6-4 road win over the Elmira Jackals Wednesday. This will be Morlang's fourth stint with the team this season, his third on a PTO after attending training camp in the fall.

Morlang has one goal, three assists, four points and four penalty minutes in 16 games with the Sound Tigers, as well as 13 goals, 13 assists, 26 points and 40 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Trashers this season. He picked up a pair of AHL assists via scoring changes this week earning credit on Steve Regier's New Year's Eve goal on the road versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, as well as Ryan Kraft's goal on the road versus the Norfolk Admirals on January 7th.

The Sound Tigers will host the Philadelphia Phantoms tonight at 7:05 p.m. and the Hartford Wolf Pack tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. All games are web cast live at www.soundtigers.com. Most games, including tonight's, are also broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM.
