SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League announced today that Bruce Boudreau of the Manchester Monarchs will serve as the head coach of the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team at next month's 2005 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic.

At 32-9-3-1 (.756), Boudreau's Monarchs are guaranteed to have the AHL's best points percentage after play on Sunday, the pre-determined date to decide the PlanetUSA coach.

Milwaukee's Claude Noel will coach the Canadian AHL All-Stars by virtue of leading the Admirals to the Calder Cup 2004 championship.

This is the first AHL All-Star appearance for Boudreau, a former AHL scoring champion and Calder Cup winner during his playing days. Boudreau will join four of his Monarchs players at the event, which will be held on Feb. 13-14 at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.
