Beloit Snappers starting pitcher Oswaldo Sosa was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 5 through June 11. Sosa started two games for Beloit last week, posting a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA. He worked 13 innings, allowing one unearned run and striking out 12 batters.
This season Sosa is 5-5 with a 2.73 ERA. In 66 innings of work he has struck out 52 batters. Sosa was signed by the Minnesota Twins as a non-drafted free agent July 4, 2002.
Following the Midwest League All-Star break June 19-21, the Snappers return to Pohlman Field, June 22-28. Beloit opens a four game series with the Lansing Lugnuts June 22-25, followed by a three game set with the Kane County Cougars June 26-28.
