Dayton, OH - The "player to be named later" in the trade that sent 2B Brandon Phillips from the Cleveland Indians organization to the Cincinnati Reds back on April 7th, has been named. Dayton Dragons RHP Jeff Stevens was selected by the Indians to complete the trade for Phillips. Stevens will stay in the state of Ohio, as the Indians have assigned him to their South Atlantic League affiliate in East Lake, Ohio, the Lake County Captains. The right hander, a sixth round draft choice by the Reds in the 2005 First Year Player Draft, post a 6-8 record with the Reds in parts of two minor league seasons. With the Dragons in 2006, Stevens was 2-4 with a 4.43 ERA in 14 games. The Dragons roster is currently at 24 players, one under the maximum level of 25.
