
Snappers Win Third Straight

Snappers won their third straight game over the Kernels defeating them 8-6 today. Cedar Rapids came out slugging in the first hitting a two run home run to take a 2-0 lead. Beloit battled back to tie the game 2-2. Cedar Rapids took the lead 3-2 after a scoring a run in the top of the fourth. The Kernels extended their lead to 5-2 after scoring two more runs in the sixth. The Snappers came back in the seventh inning with five runs to take a 7-5 lead. Paul Rutgers hit a grand slam to give Beloit its first lead of the game. Cedar Rapids homered in the top of eighth to make it a one run game. Beloit added an insurance run after a Chris Brown triple to make it 8-6. Jose Mijares came on for the win after being called up from extended Spring Training yesterday.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers hit the road for eight games before hosting the Clinton Lumberkings June 4 through June 7.
