Crist Activated From the Disabled List

Burlington, IA (May 26, 2005) - The Kansas City Royals have activated Burlington Bees right-handed pitcher Kyle Crist from the disabled list. Crist has been on the shelf since April 24th with bursitis in his right shoulder. His last outing was April 21st at Wisconsin when he faced just three batters before coming out of the game. Crist has been throwing on the side and pitched a simulated game on Sunday and has responded well. Crist is 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA in his three appearances (one start) for the year. He was a member of the starting rotation to begin the season, but is going to work out of the bullpen until further notice. The Bees roster is now back to 25 active players.

The Bees wrap up a four-game series in South Bend tonight at 6:30. RH Patrick Hicklen (2-1, 2.38) will start for the Bees. The game will be broadcast live on KBUR AM 1490 and KBKB AM 1360 with the pre-game show starting at 6:10. The Bees will return home to Community Field tomorrow night to start an eight-game home stand with four games against the Dayton Dragons and the Beloit Snappers. Tomorrow night is a T-G-I Bud Night with 2-for-$3 specials on 12oz. cans of Budweiser products throughout the game. The series continues with a 6:00 start on Saturday night for Wendy's Family Night, a 2:00 start on Sunday afternoon for a Louisa Communications Kids Day and Buzz' Birthday Party, and a special 2:00 matinee version of Miller Lite Dollar Monday on Memorial Day.
