Snappers Break Out the Sticks

The Snappers offense exploded Saturday night as the offense pounded out 16 hits and nine extra base hits to defeat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 19-8.

Wisconsin put up three runs in the top of the second before the Snappers put up a run in the bottom half of the frame then to a four run lead in the in the third as the offense scored six times highlighted by newcomer Reggie Williams two out two RBI double.

The Snappers went on to score another four runs the very next inning to extend the lead to 11-4. The Snapper tacked on runs in the fifth and sixth innings before cashing in on another six run frame to end the Snapper scoring affair.

The Snappers pitching also struck out 12 Wisconsin hitters as starting pitcher Daniel Berlind picked up his fifth win of the season.

In the contest every single Snapper hitter except one had at least one hit. Ozzie Lewis had a huge night at the plate as he went 3-for-6 with five RBI's and scored three times. The top four batters in the Snapper line up managed to go 8-for-18 with eight RBI's and scored 12 runs.

The Snappers will send right hander Bruce Pugh to the hill for game two of the three game set Sunday evening with first pitch scheduled for 5:00pm.
