Beloit Sky Carp News Release

Starting pitcher Bruce Pugh struck out 10 in a dominate performance Sunday evening as the Snappers beat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 4-3 at Pohlman Field.

Pugh picked up his fourth win of the season as he only gave up one single hit and allowed no runs. Billy Bullock nailed down his eighth save of the season which ties a team high with former Snapper Matt Williams.

Aaron Hicks lead off the first inning with a single to center followed by a Drew Thompson triple to scratch across the first run of the game. Nate Hanson collected on the RBI opportunity as he flew out to deep center field to score Thompson from third giving the Snappers the early 2-0 lead.

The Snappers would put up runs in the fifth and seventh frames to give them a 4-1 advantage. The Timber Rattlers pulled within one run of tying the game, but failed to push across the tying run late in the eighth inning.

Newcomer Reggie Williams went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate as Hicks went 1-for-4 with two runs scored.

The Snappers look for the series sweep Monday afternoon with Daniel Osterbrock taking the mound for the season finale. Game time is scheduled for 2:00pm with gates opening at 1:00pm.
