
Snappers and Cougars Split Doubleheader

Kane County starter Jared Lansford no-hit the Snappers in seven innings. The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first off starter Eddie Morlan. Kane County added two more runs in the top of the fourth inning and one more in the top of the fifth, taking a 4-0 lead. The Snappers did have six men on base, five talking walks and one batter was hit by a pitch. Morlan took the loss, pitching three and two thirds innings, yielding three earned runs.
After not getting a hit in the first game of the doubleheader the Snappers pounded out three consecutive doubles in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. Kane County added a run in the second and a run in the third, tying the game 2-2. Erik Lis scored the game winning run in the fourth inning when Eli Tintor grounded into a double play. Oswaldo Sosa earned his team high third win of the season, upping his overall record to 3-2. David Shinskie earned his third save of season. Lis was one for two with a two-run double in the first.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers and Cougars play the final game of this four game series Monday, May 15 at Pohlman Field. First pitch is set for 6:30 pm.
