ASHEVILLE, NC - The Asheville Tourists accomplished a rare feat on Friday night against the Columbia Fireflies. Asheville recorded four hits in the sixth inning that combined for a cycle. Hamlet Marte hit a leadoff triple, Chris Keck blasted a Home Run, Carlos Herrera added a double, and Brendan Rodgers capped the achievement with a single.

The Tourists led 3-2 at the time but the cycle resulted in three crucial insurance runs. Asheville ended up holding on to win 6-2.

Herrera led-off the bottom of the first inning with a solo Home Run off Fireflies' starter Gaby Almonte. In the third the Tourists plated a pair of unearned runs when Kevin Kaczmarski misplayed a fly ball in left. Columbia countered in the top of the fifth when Matt Diehl clubbed a two-run Home Run.

Diehl's long ball was the only scoring of the night for the Fireflies. Trey Killian started and went six innings for the Tourists while Alexander Guillen and Devin Burke combined for three scoreless innings of relief.

Rodgers finished 3-for-4 and Herrera 3-for-5. Yonathan Daza and Scotty Burcham each added two hits for the Tourists. Herrera has recorded multiple hits in three of his last four games.

With the win the Tourists have evened up the series with the Fireflies at one game apiece. Game three of the series is scheduled for Saturday night with the first pitch slated for 6:05pm.
