Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns were not very hospitable hosts to the Greenville Drive in Friday's doubleheader, as the Suns swept the double dip with a 6-1 victory in the opener and a 4-1 win in the nightcap.

In game one of the day, Suns (43-25) starter Joan Baez (3-5) stymied the Drive (35-32) offense by allowing just two hits and one run over five innings while striking out eight hitters.

Max Schrock, a former South Carolina Gamecock, singlehandedly put the Suns up 1-0 in the bottom of the first by doubling and coming home on a pair of wild pitches. He also doubled in the third off Anderson Espinoza (4-5) and came home on a Grant DeBruin single.

The Drive plated their lone run of the opener in the fourth when Luis Alexander Basabe's groundout scored Josh Ockimey, who walked to begin the inning.

A four-run fifth gave the Suns some insurance. Schrock's RBI single made the score 3-1, and following an RBI groundout by DeBruin, Matthew Page laced a two-run double to cap the scoring.

In the second game, the Suns scored three times in the first two innings against Roniel Raudes (6-2). After a Drive error leading off the first, Schrock stroked an RBI double to center, and he came home on a double play ground ball.

An RBI single by Victor Robles in the second put Hagerstown ahead 3-0.

Tate Matheny began the Drive fourth with a single, and after stealing second and third in the inning, Tyler Spoon hit an RBI single for Greenville's lone run of the nightcap.

A sacrifice fly by Page plated another run for the Suns in the fifth.

Matthew DeRosier improved to 3-3 by holding the Drive to one run in five innings in the second game. Philip Walby collected his second save with a scoreless seventh.

Ockimey led the Drive with three hits in the doubleheader.

The series continues with a 7:05 PM first pitch in Hagerstown on Saturday night. The pitching matchup will see Drive right-hander Jose Almonte (1-1, 2.90) taking on Suns right-hander James Bourque (0-2, 8.22).
