Everett Silvertips News Release

SEATTLE, Wash. - For the first time since 2008, downtown Seattle is Silvertip Country.

Koen MacInnes stopped 48 shots to grab his fourth shutout of the season as the Silvertips blanked the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-0 in front of 8,381 fans at Climate Pledge Arena Saturday night.

After a scoreless first period, Hunter Campbell finally broke the deadlock with a low wrist shot from the right-wing circle, picking up his 17th goal of the season to give Everett a 1-0 lead. Though the Silvertips would find themselves shorthanded frequently in the middle frame, Koen MacInnes stopped 22 shots in the second to keep the Silvertips ahead.

Ryan Hofer would extend the Everett lead at 2:38 in the third period, racing up ice at 4-on-4 to pot his 23rd goal of the campaign. Alex Swetlikoff added to the advantage at 16:04, shoving a one-handed backhander past Thomas Milic for a 3-0 lead. Campbell would ice the game with an empty-net tally to finish off the 4-0 Silvertips win.

MacInnes turned aside 12 shots in the final frame to cap off the Silvertips' seventh shutout as a team this season.

The Silvertips return home Friday, Mar. 4 to host the Portland Winterhawks at Angel of the Winds Arena. The first 1,000 fans receive a complimentary Silvertips rally towel. Tickets are available.
