
Blazers Turn Tables on Rockets

The Kelowna Rockets win streak was snapped at four games with a 6-2 loss to the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday night at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, BC.
The two split the weekend series, Kelowna downed the Blazers 2-1 last night at Prospera Place.
The Blazers got out to a two goal lead, but the Rockets responded with goals from Tyson Feist and Colton Dach to tie the game early in the second. Kamloops then answered with four straight goals, that also included Luke Toporowski completing the hat trick.
The Rockets took eight penalties throughout the game, with four of them happening in the opening frame.
With Jackson DeSouza sitting in the penalty box, Luke Toporowski (32) opened the scoring in the first period.
Toporowski (33) added his second of the night 36 seconds into the second period. Tyson Feist (12) responded seconds later for the Rockets with his third goal in the last two night's. The puck then trickled to Colton Dach (17), who notched his seventh of the season against the Blazers. Daylan Kuefler (26) restored the Kamloops lead 14:57 into the period.
The Blazers pulled away in the third with goals from Ethan Brandwood (5), Toporowski (34) and Kuefler (27).
Talyn Boyko made the start for the Rockets, stopping 32 of the 38 shots he faced. His record is now 21-13-2-1. With Dylan Garand injured, Dylan Ernst backstopped the Blazers, turning aside 24 of the 26 shots fired on him.
Kamloops outshot Kelowna 38-26.
Kelowna was zero-for-three with the power play, while Kamloops was two-for-eight.
The Rockets will face the Seattle Thunderbirds tomorrow night at 5:05 at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash. You can watch the game on CHL TV or listen on AM1150.
The Rockets next home game is Friday, March 4ths when they host the Victoria Royals. The box office is open 11:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and opens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday home game days.
