
Swift Current Rallies past ICE, 5-4

The Swift Current Broncos scored four unanswered goals over the final two periods to edge the Winnipeg ICE 5-4 Saturday night.
The ICE built up an early 3-0 first period lead courtesy Conor Geekie, Connor McClennon and Jack Finley.
Eric Van Impe got the Broncos on the board just past the midway point of the opening period. Winnipeg's Carson Lambos put the visitors back in front by three before the period expired.
Ty Hurley and Owen Pickering scored in the second period for Swift Current.
Connor Hvidston tied the game 1:19 into the final frame and then Mathew Ward put home the winner with 1:29 remaining in regulation time.
Winnipeg out shot Swift Current 36-28. Goaltender Reid Dyck earned the win in goal while Gage Alexander suffered the loss.
The ICE were 1/3 on the power play. The Broncos went 1/5.
The two teams play again Sunday night at 7:00 in Swift Current (6:30 pregame show on CFRW 1290).
