Saskatoon Blades News Release

HORSHOLM, DENMARK - Egor Sidorov and the rest of Team Belarus have advanced to the top division of the IIHF World Junior Championship for 2023.

Sidorov, the Saskatoon Blades first-round import selection from this year, helped his fellow countrymen rattle off a perfect 5-0 record at the Division 1A, including a 3-2 win over their biggest competition, Norway, on Saturday.

The speedy puck-handler for the Blades leaves the tournament with two goals and one assist for three points in five games. Alexander Suvorov led the way with 11 points. Four of the top five scorers from the tournament were on Belarus.

Belarus will replace the team that loses the relegation round at the 2022 World Juniors in Alberta next month.
