
Americans Wrap up Two Game Set against Royals

The Americans will play the second of back-to-back games against the Royals in Victoria tonight.
Tri-City made a comeback last night pushing the game into overtime to secure a point in the standings, but ultimately fell 3-2 to the Royals.
Bailey Peach scored two first period goals for the Royals, both unassisted to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Tyson Greenway had a few close scoring opportunities early in the game and finally cashed in with a goal 13:36 into the second frame to put Tri-City on the board. The game-tying goal came from Marc Lajoie 5:16 into the third period. The game extended into overtime where Brayden Schuurman scored with 36 seconds remaining in the extra frame to give the Royals the victory and extra point.
The Americans put up a season-high 42 shots on goal, they also faced a season-low 25 shots from Victoria.
Jordan Gavin, recently selected second overall by Tri-City in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft, made his WHL debut last night with the Americans.
The Americans and Royals will meet for the third and final time this season. In both prior meetings, the Americans made a late comeback and eventually fell in overtime. Victoria leads all WHL teams in overtime performance with five victories in nine overtime appearances.
After scoring twice and adding one assist last night, Bailey Peach leads head-to-head scoring with two goals and three assists. Parker Bell is the only Americans player to have multiple goals against Victoria as he scored twice in their first meeting. Tomas Suchanek has played in net in both games against Victoria, averaging a 3.27 goals-against average and an .883 save percentage.
