Worcester Sharks News Release
PROVIDENCE, RI - Alex Stalock made 35 saves and Dan DaSilva scored in his third straight game as Worcester defeated the Bruins 4-1 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI on Friday night.
Jonathan Cheechoo, Nick Petrecki, and T.J. Trevelyan also scored for the Sharks as Worcester improved to 8-0-0-0 when they score the first goal of the game.
Alex Stalock was sharp early for the Sharks as Worcester weathered an early Bruins charge. Jonathan Cheechoo (6th) gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead after his shot from on top of the crease deflected over a fallen Michael Hutchinson at 11:16. Less than three minutes later, Nick Petrecki (3rd) fired a puck through a screen at 13:47 after the Bruins couldn't clear the puck out of the zone. Sean Sullivan kept in a clearing attempt and passed over to Andrew Desjardins who then found Petrecki ten feet on top of the right circle. The Sharks led 2-0 after the first period.
Alex Stalock made an additional 14 saves in the middle period to keep the Sharks ahead 2-0. Nick Petrecki (4th FM) and Nathan McIver dropped the mitts at 19:53 to end the 2nd period as the Bruins held a 26-16 shot advantage after two periods.
Former Bruin, T.J. Trevelyan (2nd) gave the Sharks a 3-0 lead with an unassisted goal at 5:20 with a quick snap shot from 40 feet. The Bruins would strike at 9:36 as Jeremy Reich (5th) scored after a nice centering feed from Jamie Arniel. Worcester would answer back as Dan DaSilva (4th) fired a laser breaking down the right side to give the Sharks a 4-1 advantage. Alex Stalock made nine more saves in the third period as the Sharks won their third straight game.
The Sharks improve to 10-5-1-3 with 24 points through 19 games and 5-3-0-2 on the road.
