Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch gave up five unanswered goals, extending the club's season-high winless streak to six games in a 5-1 loss to the Hershey Bears tonight in front of 5,419 fans at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena. Hershey's Andrew Gordon tallied three points (2g, 1a), taking over the AHL league lead in scoring in the process while Mathieu Perrault also recorded three points (1g, 2a) for the Bears

The Crunch got on the board first at the 11:10 mark of the first period on a great individual effort by Josh Green. Green took a pass from Maxime Macenauer and rushed into the offensive zone. He took the puck behind the goal line, fought off two defenders and fed a perfect pass to Patrick Maroon in front of the net, who picked the top corner over a sprawling Dany Sabourin to give the Crunch a 1-0 lead.

The Crunch lead lasted just under five minutes, as Gordon deflected Lawrence Nycholat's point shot past Timo Pielmeier on the power play for the first of his two goals at the 16:04 mark to tie the game at 1-1.

Perreault gave Hershey a 2-1 lead 1:19 into the second period on a pass from Gordon, and Andrew Joudrey's change-up wrister from the slot made it 3-1 Hershey just under four minutes later. That goal chased Pielmeier in favor of J.P. Levasseur.

Newly acquired Matt Kennedy tried to light a spark under his team by battling Hershey's Kyle Greentree at the end of the second period, but it seemed to spark the Bears more, as they came out controlling the action in the third period.

Gordon added his second of the game and 14th of the season at the 9:50 mark of the third, and Greentree put the nail in the coffin when his sharp-angle wrister squired past the glove of J.P. Levasseur to make it a 5-1 contest.

The Crunch's next game is Saturday, November 27 at 3:00 p.m. vs. Toronto at Ricoh Coliseum. All the action can be heard starting at 2:45 p.m. on 105.9 FM The Big Talker. The game will switch to the Crunch's flagship station, The Score 1260, at approximately 4:30 p.m.
