
Seven Unanswered Runs Fuel Boomers 7-4 Win

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - After spotting the Windy City ThunderBolts four runs before taking a swing Tuesday, the first-place Schaumburg Boomers scored seven unanswered runs toclaim a 7-4 victory at Boomers Stadium.
With the win, the Boomers (19-11) extended their lead to two games in the West Division over the Thunderbolts (16-12) and River City Rascals (17-13). Schaumburg also improved 14-4 at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium so far in the Inaugural Season of Boomers Baseball.
The ThunderBolts grabbed an early 4-0 lead but the Boomers scored twice in the home half of the first and 3B Frank Pfister belted his fourth homerun of the homestand and eighth of the season with a two-run blast in the third, whichtied the game at four.
Karexon Sanchez reached base four times in the contest, collecting two singles, two walks and three runs scored in the leadoff spot for Manager Jamie Bennett. Chad Mozingo added a pair of hits for the home team while Steve McQuail, who made his first appearance in the outfield as a member of the Boomers, added a pair of runs batted in for Schaumburg. Pfister finished 2-4 on the night with a pair of runs scored.
RHP Joe Parsons (2-1, 1.53) threw 2.2 strong innings in relief of RHP Shane Prance to earn the victory for Schaumburg. RHP Patrick Mincey continued his fantastic work at the backend of the Boomers bullpen with another scoreless inning to earn his fifth save of the season.
After a three-game series against the Slammers last week the Boomers return to Joliet Wednesday for another three-games at the home of the reigning Frontier League champs. Schaumburg sends RHP Robby Donovan (3-1, 3.96) to the mound to oppose RHP Jim Schult (1-2, 7.53) for Joliet at a scheduled 7:05 p.m. firstpitch.
