River City Rascals News Release

Evansville, Ind. - Charlie Lisk hit two homeruns to stake River City to a 4-0 lead in the third inning and the Rascals responded to a late-inning comeback attempt by the Otters to pull away with an 8-4 win to avoid the sweep.

Rascals starter Keli'i Zablan gave up just two hits in the first five innings while Lisk did his thing. The career Frontier League homerun leader started the second inning with a blast to left-center and followed up with a three-run circuit clout to left field for the 119th homer of his Frontier League career and a 4-0 Rascal lead.

River City (17-13) pushed a run across in the fifth inning on a two out single from Gerardo Avila to stretch the game to 5-0 before Evansville (11-19) had their first two batter reach in the sixth inning with both scoring on groundouts to close the gap to 5-2.

The Rascals got a run back on another two-out RBI single, this time from Jeremy Synan, to get the lead to 6-2, but Evansville plated two runs of Don Lisi in the seventh before the Rascals put the game away with another clutch single from Gerardo Avila that drove in two runs with two outs.

Brandon Cunniff got out of the trouble in the seventh and struck out the side in the eighth before Justin Gill pitched a clean ninth inning to secure the win.

River City is back in action Wednesday night at T.R. Hughes Ballpark as they begin a six-game home stand with the Gateway Grizzlies and Normal CornBelters. For tickets and more information visit rivercityrascals.com.
