London Rippers News Release

LONDON, ONTARIO - Taylor Oldham's first professional home run in the 8th boosted Washington (13-16) to a 4-3 victory and a series win over the London Rippers (13-17).

With the loss, the Rippers fall a half-game back of the Wild Things in the East Division.

Washington opened the game with two unearned runs scoring on a single by Shain Stoner.

In the 2nd, Aaron Glaum and Brad Agustin hit back-to-back RBI singles to tie the game up at 2-2.

After a Washington run in the top of the 6th, Mark Samuelson doubled in the bottom of the inning and scored on a two-out double by Stephen Cardullo, tying the game once again, this time at 3-3.

However, with one out in the 8th, Oldham gave Washington the lead back, at 4-3, with his blast off reliever Tony Delmonico (0-3).

Chris Smith (2-2) went 7 innings for Washington, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits and striking out five.

London threatened late with two on and two out in the bottom of the 8th and a runner on third with one out in the 9th but neither time they could cash in the tying run.

The Lake Erie Crushers come to town tomorrow night to start a 3-game series against the London Rippers.

Canadian, Jamie Richmond (3-1 3.02) starts for London and Alex Loftin (1-0 1.80) will get the ball for Lake Erie. Game time is 6:30pm at Labatt Park.
