The Senators were shutout in game one of the four game series against the Portland Sea Dogs 4-0. The Dogs scored a run in the second and three more in the fourth to put the game away. The Sens had just two at bats with runners in scoring position and stranded five runners. The Sens best chance to score came in the fifth inning when the game was still just 1-0 when they had runners at first and second with one out, but the runners were left stranded on the corners.

On Capitol Hill

Mario Sanchez took the loss going five innings and allowing 11 hits and four runs.

Justin Miller, Jordan Mills and Aaron Fletcher combined to retire the final 12 batters in the game.

With the Gavel

The Sens had just four hits. The fifth inning was the only time they put two runners on base at the same time.

Filibusters

- It was the second time in three games they've been shut out.

- Aaron Fletcher is the 51st player to appear for the Sens this season

- It's the first of eight games between the teams between now and a week from Sunday.

The Senators play the Portland Sea Dogs in game two of a four game series Friday night at FNB Field at 7 p.m. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:50 p.m.
