SeaWolves Blast Five Homers to Sink Goats

June 12, 2018 - Eastern League (EL) - Hartford Yard Goats News Release

Hartford, CT - The Erie SeaWolves cranked five home runs and defeated the Hartford Yard Goats by the score of 12-0 on Tuesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. SeaWolves catcher Jake Rogers led the home run parade with three of his own as part of a 4 RBI night, in the opener of a six game homestand. The Tigers' affiliate got after it early and scored seven runs in the second inning, en-route to their fourth straight win against Hartford. Erie starter Kyle Funkhouser allowed just three hits over six scoreless innings and registered his second win.

The SeaWolves added to a 1-0 lead by scoring seven times in the second inning off Yard Goats starter Jack Wynkoop. Danny Woodrow began the rally with an RBI triple before Jake Rogers belted a two-run homer. Harold Castro and Sergio Alcontara followed with singles and Will Maddox cracked a two-RBI double. Dominic Ficociello capped the frame with a two-run homerun.

Erie cranked two more homers in the fifth inning with shots from Jake Rogers and Jacob Robson and another blast in the ninth from Rogers.

The Yard Goats continue the three-game series against the Erie SeaWolves on Wednesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. LHP Evan Grills will pitch for the Yard Goats while RHP Beau Burrow will start for Erie. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and streamed on newsradio.1410.com and MiLB.com. The Yard Goats will return to Dunkin' Donuts Park for their next homestand next Tuesday vs Erie at 7:05 PM.
