DOWN SOUTH FOR SIX: The Portland Sea Dogs open up a six-game trip on Tuesday night against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (Giants affiliate) at the Diamond...Portland is 4-5 during a 15-game stretch against the Western Division...Portland has won seven of their last 12 road games, including a series win at Harrisburg on June 1-3...Lefty Matt Kent (3-4, 3.38) makes his eighth straight start and his 13th appearance of the season.
NO SLOWING DOWN THE 'DUCKS: Akron received two-run homers from Joe Sever and Ka'ai Tom, and defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field...Sean Brady (3-3) worked six and 2/3 innings on five hits, one run and seven strikeouts to earn the win...Jantzen Witte homered in the sixth and Deiner Lopez provided a sacrifice fly for Portland's final run in the ninth...Dedgar Jimenez (1-5) worked six innings on seven hits and four runs in the loss.
