ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look to extend their season-long six game winning streak as they open up a brief four-day road trip against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) at Prince George's Stadium. The ‘Wolves are coming off of a pair of three-game sweeps against Bowie and Reading at Jerry Uht Park for their best homestand (6-0) of the season. Erie's hot play as put them at 2.5 games behind first place Akron in the EL South. The Howlers and Aeros are the only EL teams with 20 wins. Erie also improved their home record yesterday to 15-5 which is tied with Akron for the best home record in the league. The ‘Wolves and Baysox will play five games in four days during the series with a doubleheader on Friday. The last trip into Bowie, the two clubs were only able to play one game of the three-game set. The second doubleheader will be when Erie returns to Bowie in early June...Righty Luis Marte takes the mound for the ‘Wolves making his sixth start of the season and third against the Baysox. He is 0-1 with a no-decision in his previous two starts against Bowie. Marte took a no-decision in his last start against Bowie on May 9. In the game, he went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits with a walk while tying a season-high with seven strikeouts. The ‘Wolves are 3-0 in the last three games started by Marte...Righty Sean Gleason takes the mound for the Baysox. Gleason makes his fifth start and third against the ‘Wolves. He is 0-1 with a no-decision against Erie. In his last start on May 8 vs. Erie, Gleason went 6.1 innings, allowing four runs on nine hits with two walks and a strikeout.

TODAY'S NOTABLES -

- Bowie leads the season series over Erie 6-4. The SeaWolves and Baysox meet 19 times in 2009.

- Erie's pitching staff ranks sixth in the league with a 3.64 team ERA. Bowie's pitching staff ranks eighth with a 3.79 team ERA.

- Erie's offense is tied with Bowie for second in the EL with a .268 team batting average.

- The SeaWolves lead the league with 36 home runs and 169 runs scored.

- Ryan Strieby leads the league with 10 home runs, 29 RBI, .626 slugging percentage and 30 runs scored. He is tied with teammate Deik Scram with 16 extra-base hits which is second in the EL.

- Max Leon is ninth in the league with a .323 batting average.

- Defensively the SeaWolves are second in the league with a .984 team fielding percentage. Erie has committed 19 errors this season which is tied for second fewest in the league. The ‘Wolves have turned 40 double plays which is second in the EL.

- Righty Brooks Brown was been transferred to Triple-A Toledo.

- Former SeaWolf LHP Luke French has been called up to Detroit.

- Ryan Strieby has reached the 10 home run mark in 31 games. It took former SeaWolf power hitter Jeff Larish 51 games to reach the 10 HR mark in 2007 on the way to 28 long balls which ranks third all-time.
