Portland leading 8-1 in the 4th inning, game resumed on Thursday

(New Britain, CT) - Thursday night's game between the Portland Sea Dogs and New Britain Rock Cats was suspended due to rain. The Sea Dogs are leading 8-1 in the top of the 4th inning and when play resumes, they will have the bases loaded and two outs.

Portland scored all eight runs with two outs, including seven in the third inning, sending 11 men to the plate. 2B Ryan Khoury tied the game at one with an RBI double down the left-field line. 1B Lars Anderson nailed a 2-run single, 3B Jorge Jimenez hit a 3-run homer and RF Reid Engel smacked a run-scoring double. The ‘Dogs 8th run scored on a wild pitch by RHP Frank Mata.

The Rock Cats scored first on back-to-back doubles by SS Steve Tolleson and 2B Brian Dinkelman.

Thursday's game will resume on Friday night beginning at 4:35 PM and remain a 9-inning game. The second game will be a 7-inning contest and will take place 30 minutes following the conclusion of game 1.
