Sea Wolves come from behind to win

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves took the second game a three-games-in-three-nights series from the Cincinnati Cyclones, coming from behind to win 3-2 on Saturday night at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

The Cyclones grabbed an early lead on a pair of power-play goals scored on their first two man-advantage opportunities at 12:02 by Mark Van Guilder and at 15:53 by Matt Syroczynski. The Sea Wolves battled back with a power-play goal of their own, scored when Jeff Kyrzakos found Mathieu Melanson open at the bottom of the right circle for a one-timer that beat Cincinnati goaltender Loic Lacasse over the catching glove at 16:33.

Ryan Cruthers potted his team-leading 23rd goal of the season, taking a pass from Kyle Peto and wristing it past Lacasse on the power play at 5:41 of the second period. Ryan Menei's seventh goal of the season stood as the game-winner when he broke down the right wing a ripped a slap shot from the top of the right-wing circle that beat Lacasse along the ice at 16:36 of the second.

Mississippi held strong defensively through the third period, killing a third-period Cyclones power play while Ryan Munce turned away all seven shots he faced in the final frame.

The Sea Wolves were 2-for-3 on the power play, and Munce stopped 29 shots to earn the win.
