Pair of Hat Tricks Lead Bombers Past Johnstown 8-3

TROY, Ohio -- Hat tricks by Tomas Zaborsky and Greg Labenski help the Dayton Bombers dominate Johnstown 8-3 at Troy's Hobart Arena Saturday night.

Justin Bowers got it started at 12:47 of the first with assists to Jarret Lukin and Les Reaney. Johnstown's Toby LaFrance tied it up at 17:41 on the first of three power play goals by the Chiefs. Dayton returned the favor with a Greg Labenski power play goal at 19:58 with assists to Bowers and Lukin.

Tomas Zaborsky scored at 9:14 of the second on an unassisted power play to make it 3-1. After Johnstown goals by Petr Pohl and Blair Yaworski to tie it, Zaborsky got his second of the night at 13:33, assisted by Nathan Schwartzbauer and Dan Riedel. It was 4-3. Then Labenski made it 5-3 with assists to Nino Musitelli and Kelly Perrault.

Three third period goals salted it away for Dayton. Zaborsky got his hat trick at 9:39 (assisted by Labenski and Ryan Smyth), Labenski got his on a penalty shot at 14:04, and Christian Gaudet closed out the scoring at 14:18 (Musitelli and Justin Chwedoruk assists. The final was 8-3 Bombers.

Dayton and Johnstown meet again Sunday night at 5 p.m. at the nutter Center. The game can be heard of 980 WONE and the B2 Networks.
