BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves on Wednesday announced that they have traded forward Lance Monych to the Stockton Thunder and received forward Andy Contois (KON-toyz) in return.

A native of Marquette, Michigan, Contois has played 48 games with Stockton this season, scoring 19 goals and 21 assists. In 2006-07, Contois scored 40 points (19g, 21a) in 71 games with Gwinnett, and scored one goal and one assist in four Kelly Cup Playoff games.

"Lance has been having a great season, but I felt that we needed to make a change," said Sea Wolves head coach Steffon Walby. "When this deal came on the table, I thought it would be a good move for the team, as well as for Lance, because it will help him further his career with an NHL-affiliated team that will give him a good chance to advance."

Monych scored a team-leading 25 goals and added 13 assists and was -12 in 48 games with Mississippi this season. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native also appeared in six games with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

NOTE: Fans attending the games on Thursday and Saturday should allow extra time to arrive at the arena and park due to construction on U.S. 90 in Biloxi.
