
Rudkowsky Returns From Grand Rapids

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, have announced that goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has been returned to the club from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.
For a second consecutive stint, Rudkowsky came on in relief of Griffins' starter Adam Berkhoel Saturday against Milwaukee after Berkhoel surrendered four goals in 16:39 seconds, and played the final 3:21 of the first period. He allowed one goal on two shots, yet recorded the loss as Grand Rapids fell to Milwaukee 6-4. Rudkowsky is 0-1-0 in two games with Grand Rapids this season with an 8.40 goals against average and a .818% save percentage.
Rudkowsky, 29, is 9-17-3 with a 3.84 goals against average and a .900% save percentage in 30 appearances this season with the RoadRunners. He has logged 110 career games in the AHL with Worcester, Providence, Bridgeport, and Grand Rapids compiling a record of 38-40-17 with a 2.91 goals against average and a .903% save percentage.
Rudkowsky is 142-134-39 in 335 career games with a lifetime 2.82 goals against average and a .910% save percentage.
In a separate transaction, the RoadRunners have placed forward Nathan Gillies on the seven-day injured reserve.
The RoadRunners return to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Thursday when they host the Utah Grizzlies in the opener of a two-game weekend series. Phoenix is currently in seventh place in the National Conference playoff race with a one point lead over Stockton and Bakersfield. Eight teams in the conference will advance to the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
