NEWS AND NOTES

LOOKING TO END THE DROUGHT: The Portland Sea Dogs have lost five in a row, and continue their five-game series with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets affiliate) on Saturday night at Hadlock Field...Portland has not scored a run in their last 17 innings and has been shutout in 20 of 22 frames during the series...RHP Denyi Reyes looks for his first winning streak in Double-A, making his 17th start (team leader) of the season.

NO MORE SUSPENSE: The two teams resumed Thursday's suspended game with Binghamton holding on for a 2-0 win...Portland's only hit was a first-inning lead-off single from Jarren Duran (finished the game 0-for-20)...The Ponies had RBIs from Gavin Cecchini and Patrick Mazieka...In game two, Zach Lee (1-0) fired five scoreless, and Barrett Barnes homered and knocked in three, lifting Binghamton to a 5-0 victory.
