Scherlinck joins Steelheads

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads announced today that the Iowa Stars have reassigned defenseman Jeremy Scherlinck [Sheer-link] to Idaho. The Stars are Idaho's American Hockey League affiliate.

Scherlinck, 25, played in 11 games this season with the Steelheads earning three points and a plus-three rating. The Gross Pointe, Michigan native attended Iowa Stars training camp and scored a power play goal in a 2-0 win vs. Quad City.

The 6-3, 205-pound Scherlinck skated in two games with the Stars after his call up. He made his AHL debut with Iowa on November 16th.

Scherlinck is playing tonight in the first of a three-game series at Qwest Arena against the Fresno Falcons. The two teams meet again Friday and Saturday. Tickets are available online at idahosteelheads.com with the print-at-home feature or at the Qwest Arena box office (331-TIXS).

Other notes: Forward Colin Sinclair was transferred from the 3-day to the 7-day IR today.
