Checkers Trade Falk To Chiefs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - General manger and head coach of the Charlotte Checkers, Derek Wilkinson, announced today that the team has traded forward, Mike Falk to the Johnstown Chiefs in exchange for future considerations.

Falk, 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, skated four games with the Checkers this season registering one assist. Prior to his time with the Checkers, he suited up in 13 games with the Mississippi Sea Wolves compiling one goal, three assists for four points with 23 penalty minutes. He started his professional career with the San Diego Gulls after playing four seasons with Bowling Green University in the NCAA.

The Checkers began their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game takes place on Dec 7 against the Johnstown Chiefs. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers will enter their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena this fall. Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting at just $399.
