
Cyclones Run Win Streak To Four Games

CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Cyclones ran their winning streak to four games with a 4-2 win over Dayton on Wednesday night at U.S. Bank Arena. Barret Ehgoetz netted a goal and two assists to pace the win-snapping a two-game win streak for the Bombers over Cincinnati.
The Cyclones opened the scoring 10:23 into the first period when rookie defenseman Tyler Howells collected his second goal of the season from Billy Irish-Baker and Barret Ehgoetz. The lead extended to 2-0, when Ehgoetz netted his seventh goal of the season on the power play at 18:38, as Howells and Thomas Beauregard added the helpers. Cincinnati outshot Dayton in the opening period, 17-9.
Cincinnati added another goal in the second period when Jean-Michel Daoust netted his 12th goal of the year at 5:00 on the power play from David Desharnais and Howells.
The third period saw Dayton close the gap when Matt Beaudoin picked up his 12th goal 44 seconds in and Ryan Reid collected his second tally at 18:48. An empty net goal from the Cyclones Mathieu Aubin with 26 seconds to play closed the scoring. Conrad Martin and Ehgoetz picked up the assists.
Cyclones goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris is 8-2 on the season and has won six straight decisions. Grumet-Morris has not lost since Nov. 4 at Dayton in a 3-2 defeat.
The Cyclones improves to 14-5-1, co-leaders of the North Division. Dayton drops to 8-7-5 on the year.
The Cyclones return to U.S. Bank Arena for a pair of games against North Division co-leader Elmira (13-6-1) on Friday and Saturday night. Both games start at 7:30pm.
