Schell Called up to AHL Chicago

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Brad Schell has been called up to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League for the third time this season.

The Scott, Saskatchewan native collected a goal and 2 assists for 3 points during his first two trips to the AHL this season. He was a +4 for the Wolves during his 4 AHL games earlier this season.

Schell currently leads the ECHL in scoring with 110 points off of 25 goals and 85 assists. He leads teammate Scott Mifsud, who ranks second overall in the ECHL in scoring, by 22 points.

Schell has also set a new Gladiators' all time team record for assists (85) and points (110) in a season. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound centerman posted a career best 16 game point (6g, 20a) scoring streak from February 2nd through March 16th. In addition, he was named the ECHL Player of the Month for December.

He was also selected as a starter and the Captain for the American Conference Squad in the 2007 ECHL All Star Game in Boise, Idaho. Schell also collected the All Star Game's first goal for the American Conference.

Schell has posted 36 multiple point games for the Gladiators while tying a career high with 5 points (1g, 4a) for the Gladiators in an 8-3 win at South Carolina on October 29th.

Schell should be available for the Wolves for their 8:00 p.m. tilt against Maitoba on Wednesday night.
