
Johnstown Claims 3-1 Win Over Cyclones

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Johnstown's Marek Kvapil netted a pair of third period goals to breaka 1-1 tie and lead the Chiefs to a 3-1 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones Tuesday morning at U.S. Bank Arena.
All the scoring took place in the third period, as Zybnek Hrdel collected his tenth goal of the season on the power play at 2:18 of the frame. Travis Lisbaeth got Cincinnati on the scoreboard at 12:09 with his 18th goal of the season. Barett Ehgoetz and Jon Gleed picked up the assists. Kvapil scored at 13:37, his first ECHL goal, and then added an empty netter at 19:05 to close out the scoring.
The Cyclones are now 35-26-3-2, second in the North Division two points behind Dayton. Johnstown is 29-31-3-3 on the season, sixth-best in the North Division. Cincinnati opens a four-game road stand on Friday and Saturday (March 30-31) at Wheeling, both nights start at 7:30pm.
A season-high 4393 fans participated in the Education In Hockey Day festivities with students from 27 schools in the region participated in the event.
