Morrison Assigned To AHL San Antonio

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, an affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have announced that goaltender Mike Morrison has been reassigned by Phoenix to San Antonio of the American Hockey League.

Morrison, 27, is 9-11-3 in 25 games for the RoadRunners including one shutout with a 3.39 goals against average and a .899 save percentage. The Medford, Mass. native and fifth-year professional was assigned to the RoadRunners by the Phoenix Coyotes from San Antonio on Nov. 30, 2006.

In his first full season in the NHL in 2005-06, Morrison posted a combined record of 11-4-3 with a 2.95 goals against average and a .882% save percentage in 25 games between the Edmonton Oilers and the Ottawa Senators. He was named the NHL's "Defensive Player of the Week" for the week ending Nov. 27, 2005 after going 3-0-0 with a 1.58 goals against average and a .933% save percentage. Selected by the Oilers in the seventh round at the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Morrison became the 274th former ECHL to play in the NHL after he was recalled from Greenville on Oct. 24, 2005 and made his NHL debut on Nov. 7, 2005 at Dallas. Morrison signed a free agent contract with the Coyotes on July 2, 2006.
