San Antonio Takes Three of Four Against West Foes

MONDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2004 - SAN ANTONIO 4 MILWAUKEE 3

The Rampage took a 3-0 lead on Milwaukee thanks to two Ryan Jardine power-play goals and Stephen Weiss' goal 36 seconds into the second period. Weiss' goal set the new season mark for fastest goal from the start of a period for the Rampage. After the second Jardine power-play goal in the second period, Milwaukee cut the lead to one, 3-2. Then at 16:54 into the second period, Joel Kwiatkowski scored the game- winner when he notched San Antonio's third power-play goal on the night.

Travis Scott made a 34-save effort on 37 shots for his eighth win on the year... Jardine (2-0-2), Weiss (1-1-2), and Kolnik (0-2-2) each finished with two points on the night.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 29, 2004 - CHICAGO 3 SAN ANTONIO 2

San Antonio struck early when Chris Nielsen took a feed from rookie Greg Jacina at 16:59 of the first period. Chicago answered with a goal and then Stephen Weiss scored his team-leading ninth goal of the year at 14:45 in the second period. Chicago again answered to tie the game at two.

In the third period, Travis Scott allowed his second power-play goal of the evening and Chicago's Kari Lehtonen saved all of the Rampage's third period shots as Chicago won 3-2. Scott finished with 31 saves on the night.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2004 - SAN ANTONIO 3 CINCINNATI 1

Juraj Kolnik's first goal came via off the power-play when he redirected Lukas Krajicek's shot at 10:23 in the first period. Cincinnati tied the game at one with a power-play goal of their own and the game remained that way until Kolnik's second goal of the game at 1:06 into the third period. It was Kolnik's first game-winning goal of the year and gave Joel Kwiatkowski his 100th career AHL point.

Later in the third period, Ryan Jardine took Stephen Weiss' lead pass and was able to outskate the defense for an insurance goal, but Patrick DesRochers wouldn't need the help as he turned away 16 of Cincinnati's 17 shots on the night.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 1, 2004 - SAN ANTONIO 6 CINCINNATI 5

Gregory Campbell opened the scoring with a goal when he teamed with Stephen Weiss and Jay Bouwmeester at 6:22 in the first period. With the score tied at one, the Rampage scored twice on three shots in the second period when Czech countrymen Kamil Kreps and Taticek lit the lamp at 9:23 and 11:37 respectively.

Cincinnati scored three consecutive goals, but Victor Uchevatov scored his first goal of the season just 45 seconds after Cincinnati took a 5-3 lead. Stephen Weiss earned his second assist of the night on the goal and currently has a four-game point scoring streak (2-5-7 totals). Minutes later at 11:39, Rob Globke and Eric Beaudoin fed Ryan Jardine near the right-side circle who blasted a shot past Frederic Cassivi to tie the game at five.

Petr Taticek's second goal of the night came with only 7:48 left to play in the game, capping the third-period rally and giving the Rampage a 6-5 win in front of a season- high 5,585 fans Saturday night at the SBC Center.

Patrick DesRochers stopped all four shots he faced in the final 14-minutes of the game as he replaced Travis Scott for the win.

Coach Steve Ludzik earned his 700th career coaching point with a 3-1 win over Cincinnati on Dec. 31.

Ryan Jardine doubled his goal scoring total with four last week. His eight this season tie him for second place on the Rampage with Gregory Campbell and Greg Jacina. Stephen Weiss leads the team with nine and Juraj Kolnik trails with seven.

With four goals in four games, Ryan Jardine helped the Rampage go 3-1 last week. In his previous six games, Jardine has five goals and two assists for seven points. This is Jardine's second consecutive player- of-the-week nomination.
