
Rampage raise more than $12,000 for San Antonio youth

SAN ANTONIO - Jan. 4, 2005 - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the New Year's jersey auction from their New Year's Eve and New Year's Day games raised $12,375. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Spurs Foundation, which will go towards purchasing Rampage tickets for underserved area youth.
The bidding took place at the Express-News Headlines in the SBC Center after the Saturday, January 1 game against the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. Partnered with Armadillo Homes and the Spurs Foundation, the Rampage players' jerseys were auctioned to the public with the highest bid going to defenseman Filip Novak's jersey for $1,200. Rounding out the top three where right wing Rob Globke's and left wing Gregory Campbell's jerseys, which each generated $725 and $675 respectively.
The nonprofit 501(c)(3) Spurs Foundation was established to generate goodwill and financial support for economically, emotionally and/or physically disadvantaged youth in South Texas. Since its inception in 1988, the nonprofit Spurs Foundation has donated $8 million in cash and in-kind contributions to deserving South Texas children.
