Saints Contest Suspended Three Batters into Game Due to Unsafe Field Conditions from Rain
July 17, 2022 - International League (IL)
St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN - This is not the way the St. Paul Saints envisioned going into the All-Star break. Three batters into the game, with the rain falling at first pitch, the players were pulled off the field, the tarp was put on the field, and play was halted. After the grounds crew worked on the field, the umpires ruled the conditions were unsafe to continue and the game between the Toledo Mud Hens and Saints at CHS Field was suspended. The Mud Hens led 1-0, with two outs and the number four hitter, Brendon Davis, scheduled to hit. The game will resume on a day to be determined during the next series between the two teams, September 6-11 at Fifth Third Field in Toledo.
Fans that purchased tickets online will have vouchers placed in their account in the next couple of days and can exchange those vouchers for any regular season game the remainder of the season. The voucher will be worth the price of the ticket. If you purchase a ticket of greater value, then fans will pay the difference. Fans that purchased tickets in person at the box office must exchange those tickets at the box office. Box office hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
The Saints are now off until Friday when they will take on the Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh Pirates) in a three-game series at Victory Field beginning at 6:05 p.m. (CT) on Friday. Both teams are TBA. The game can be heard on KFAN Plus, 96.7 FM.
