HEADING INTO THE BREAK: As the Wings head into the All-Star break, they have posted some notable numbers in the first half of their season (89 games):

SOUTHPAW KILLERS: The Wings have an International League-best batting average versus southpaws, clipping .285 (240-for-843) and posing a 17-13 record when their opponent starts a lefty on the hill, compared to a .245 (521-for-2127) batting average and 30-28 record versus right-handed starters.

WE WIN THOSE: Although the Wings are 35-3 and 35-2 when leading after the 7th and 8th inning, respectively, the club posts the third-worst batting average (.235, 234-for-995) and the fourth-fewest total hits (234) in the International League when they are ahead in runs.

THURS-YAY: The Wings post a 12-3 record on Thursdays, their best single-day record with the next best being Saturdays and Sundays where the club has logged 9-8 and 9-5 records, respectively...Rochester has the second-best average (.282, 148-for-524), hits (148), total bags (253), and RBIs (93) while holding the crown for swiped bags (22) in the International League-East on Thursdays...the club has also registered 30% (25/82) of their homers, 24% (93/385) of their RBIs, and 24% (22/93) of their swiped bags on this day of the week.

DON'T TEST VERRETT: RHP Logan Verrett recorded his fifth quality start of the season last night, tossing six innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits, and one walk while striking out five Storm Chasers...Verrett's outing marks his second quality start in as many games and is the first time he has recorded back-to-back quality starts since 9/26/21 and 10/2/21 with Triple-A Tacoma (SEA)...in his previous two starts, the Baylor-alum has a combined 13 innings pitched, allowing just two earned runs (1.38 ERA).

#23: AIR PALACIOS: LF Josh Palacios extended his on-base streak to 23 games with his ninth home run of the season in last night's contest...the lefty has the longest on-base streak on the Red Wings squad this season as well as the longest active streak in the International League...with his long ball, the former Auburn Tiger has passed former Red Wing Zander Wiel for the longest on-base streak in a Red Wings uniform since 8/11/19 - 9/2/19, when Wiel reached base safely in 22-straight games...the last person to eclipse a 23-game on-base streak in a Wings uniform was former Red Wing Drew Maggi when he reached base safely in 39-straight (6/21-8/9/2019).

HALLE-ALU-JAH: 3B Jake Alu went 1-for-3 with a walk tonight...between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester, the Boston College-alum has reached base safely in 25-straight games dating back to 6/12 with Double-A Harrisburg...with his 9th-inning knock, the lefty has also extended his hitting streak to 14 games, batting .357 (20-for-56) during that stretch (6/28-7/16).
