NORFOLK, Va. - Ryan Faragher's first shutout of his AHL career led the Norfolk Admirals to a 4-0 victory over the Hershey Bears on Friday night at Scope Arena.

A tic-tac-toe play gave the Admirals a 1-0 lead with less than a minute to go in the first period. Josh Manson skated into Hershey's zone and sent a pass to Max Friberg on the right wall before getting up to the goal line. Friberg dropped the puck to a rushing Mike Sgarbossa in the high slot. Sgarbossa went up to the right ring before hitting Manson at the far post, who threaded the puck across the crease to a wide-open Friberg. The pass pulled netminder Philipp Grubauer out of place and Friberg tapped the puck in at 19:03 for the easy game-winner.

Just 3:08 into the second period, Charlie Sarault doubled the lead for the Admirals on the man-advantage. On the right wall, Sgarbossa dropped a pass back to the blue line to defenseman Brandon Montour. Montour's blast caught a piece of Charlie Sarault and deflected down to slip through Grubauer's legs.

Norfolk tacked on another marker late in the second period. John Kurtz began the play with a steal from Hershey and held the puck at the goal line in the corner. Kurtz sent it behind the net as Matt Bailey slid into position, taking the puck down the wall before skating to the right circle to shoot. A Norfolk screen blinded Grubauer for another goal which put the Admirals up, 3-0, at 15:59.

Antoine Laganiere sealed the 4-0 rout for the Admirals almost halfway through the third frame. Louis Leblanc broke out of the zone and threw a pass to Laganiere in neutral ice. Manson raced up to for a 2-on-1 with Laganiere, and the Yale product's shot sailed past Grubauer a fourth time at 9:24.

Grubauer stopped 31 of Norfolk's 35 opportunities, and Faragher stood tall as he denied all 24 of Hershey's shots. The Admirals went 1-for-6 on the power play, and the Bears were blanked on all four of their man-advantage chances.

The Admirals rematch with the Hershey Bears for the eighth and final time of the 2014-15 season tomorrow night at 7:15 p.m., before setting out on a three-game road trip.
