Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN, MS --- Goaltender Adam Russo stopped 32 RiverKings' shots in posting a 1-0 Quad City victory over Mississippi at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven on Friday, November 19th. The RiverKings have now lost two straight entering Saturday's road trip to Evansville and a 7:30 PM start against the IceMen.
The only goal scored in the contest was netted by Mallards' forward Obi Aduba, who stuck the puck past RiverKings' goalie Alexander Pechurskiy at the 7:04 mark of the first period for a 1-0 Quad City lead, which became the final score. The goal was Aduba's fourth of the season.
Russo was stellar in net for the Mallards in gaining his third win of the season (3-0-0). Pechurskiy (1-2-0) was equally as strong in the pipes for the RiverKings, as he stopped 25 of 26 Quad City shots. Mississippi out shot the Mallards 32-26 for the game.
Mississippi was 0-for-3 on the power play, while Quad City failed in its only power play chance.
The RiverKings are now 5-8-0 for the season, while Quad City moves to 6-5-0.
