Russell Called up by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WHEELING, WV – The Wheeling Nailers announce today that Bobby Russell has been recalled to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. Russell left after the Nailers home win on Saturday night against the Lexington Men-O-War.

Russell has played 16 games this season with the Nailers and leads the team with ten goals. He also has three assists for 13 points and is playing at a +2. Of his ten goals scored, three are power play and one is shorthanded.

Russell has played nine games this season for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in three trips to the AHL. He has scored two goals and is playing at a +1. One of his goals was a game-winning goal in a 6-1 win over Philadelphia on December 13.

The Nailers resume their season on Friday, December 27 against the Johnstown Chiefs at the Wheeling Civic Center. Game time is 7:30p.m. Call the Nailers office at 234-4625 or toll free at 1-877-NAIL-TIX for ticket information.
