Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets go to Christmas break tied with Adirondack for first place in the Eastern Conference and tied with Missouri for a UHL best .638 point percentage overall.

The Komets skated to 3 straight wins in 3 nights over the past weekend. Friday the Komets stopped the River Otters 5-1 at Missouri. Saturday the Komets returned home to ground the visiting Quad City Mallards 4-1 and Sunday the Komets took a 5-2 victory from the visiting Rockford IceHogs.

The Komets extended their home win string to 3 games and are riding a 4-game win streak at the break. Colin Chaulk has an 8-game point streak (5g, 7a) and Bobby Stewart has pointed in each of his last 5 straight games (6g, 2a). The Komets nominated Bobby Stewart for UHL Player of the Week for his 5-goal, 1-assist effort in 3 games (3 ppg, 1 shg, 2 gwg, 1 fg) and Tom Lawson for UHL Goaltender of the Week for his 2 wins Friday and Saturday (2-0-0, 2 ga, 1.00 ave, 56/58, .966 spct.). Lawson continues to lead UHL goalies with 1.89 average and .925 save percentage in 20 games played.

Colin Chaulk skated his 300th career game Sunday against Rockford and Ryan Severson recorded his first pro 3-point outing scoring a goal and adding 2 assists in the 5-2 win over the IceHogs.

The Komets are off for Christmas until practice resumes Thursday. The Komet practice schedule for this week is Thursday 12/26 5pm at the coliseum, Friday 12/27 at 10am at the coliseum, Saturday 12/28 at 11am at the coliseum.
