TONIGHT: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies and the Harrisburg Senators close out their three-game series at NYSEG Stadium. It's the last meeting of the year between the two clubs.
LAST TIME OUT: The Rumble Ponies and Senators split their doubleheader Wednesday. The Ponies won the second game 5-4 on a Patrick Mazeika walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. Binghamton was trailing 4-1 entering the inning. Harrisburg won the first game 4-2.
MAZEIKA'S MIRACLE: Patrick Mazeika belted a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh of Wednesday's second game. It was his second walk-off homer of the year as he also hit a walk-off grand slam in game two of the Ponies' doubleheader vs. Altoona on May 14. He now has a team-high 13 homers and sits in sole possession of third on the league RBI leaderboard with 60.
UCETA EARNS WIN: Adonis Uceta picked up his fourth win of the year with two perfect innings of relief with three strikeouts in game two. It was his second straight outing in which he tossed two perfect innings. He has not allowed a run over his last six appearances.
PERFECT RELIEF: In addition to Uceta's two perfect innings, Stephen Villines also pitched two perfect innings of relief with three strikeouts in game two. It was his fourth straight scoreless outing.
PAEZ'S THREE-HIT NIGHT: Between the two games, Mike Paez went 3-5 with a home run and two RBI. He went 2-2 with a solo homer in game one as a pinch hitter. In game two, he went 1-3 with a run scored and an RBI. He drove in the first run of the Ponies' rally in the seventh with a single.
PONIES AVOID DH SWEEP: Thanks to Mazeika's walk-off three-run homer, the Ponies avoided being swept in a doubleheader for the second time all season. They have swept their opponent four times, split the twin bill seven times and have been swept just once. The Ponies have two more DHs scheduled this year.
TAYLOR TALLIES A HIT IN BOTH GAMES: Michael A Taylor smacked a hit in both games of Wednesday's DH. He capped off the Senators' four-run second inning in game two with a three-run, bases-clearing double.
BARRETT ADDS ANOTHER SAVE TO EL LEAD: With a perfect seventh inning in game one, Aaron Barrett recorded his Eastern League best 25th save of the season. He has a 2.25 ERA over 44 innings this year. He is also the Senators' all-time saves leader with 42. He appeared in 90 games with the Washington Nationals between 2014 and 2015.
COMING UP: The Rumble Ponies head to Hartford for a three-game series with the Yard Goats, beginning Friday night.
