March 26, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
It took Reading just 52-seconds to jump on top of the Cincinnati Cyclones last night. Chris Lynch picked up his second goal in as many games to put the Royals up 1-0. Brad Church broke a nine game scoring drought to pick up an assist along with Dave Stewart. Reading outshot Cincinnati 17-10 to take a 1-0 lead to the locker room.
In the second, the Royals and Cyclones exploded for three goals in less than a minute. Reading notched two of the three tallies to extend their lead to 3-1 after 40-minutes of hockey. The Royals tallies came from David Masse (13) and Kent Davyduke (26) while Cincinnati's marker came off the stick of Mike Henderson.
The Cyclones outscored the Royals 2-1 in the final stanza, as Reading would hold off a late Cincinnati charge. The 'Clones would open the scoring to cut the Royal lead to one, as ex-Royal Jason Maleyko cut down the slot to slip the puck by Cody Rudkowsky. The Royals would answer just 59-seconds later on Dave Stewarts' fifth tally of the season from Brad Church and Chris Lynch. Mike Henderson cut the Reading lead to one with just under three minutes to go but Cincinnati could get no closer.
Reading outshot the Cyclones 41-39. Reading set a season low for penalty minutes in a game (4) while Cincinnati posted just two minutes in the game. Reading moves on to play Wheeling in their final road game of the season. The action begins at 7:00 with the pre game show and the drop of the puck at 7:30 at Wes Banco Arena.
